Cruz filmmaker Tiffany Morgan Campbell and Andria Lessler of San Francisco's
ode to ocean-going females - Dear and Yonder - features a dynamic cast of
characters whose stories highlight their skills in the water as well as their
positive relations with the natural world, each other and themselves. Logging
in three years of travel, surf, and editing, Campbell (wife of filmmaker Thomas
Campbell) and Lessler have documented a diversity of female surf-lives across
the globe. The film explores the relationship between women and their home
breaks (the Dear) as well as featuring ladies who search out waves in the
far-flung corners of the Earth (the Yonder). A variety of characters and waves
spanning the globe are beautifully captured, almost entirely in 16mm
