The Encore is one of those boots that rides super
well, is priced super good and hold up unreal! The Encore BOA has been one of
our best selling snowboard boots for the past 3 years and each year Vans finds
a way to improve on the past season. This year by going with the new updated
Vans Trifit center tongue liner you get even better comfort and heel hold. In
case you are unfamiliar with BOA boots in general, BOA technology was developed
about 6 or 7 years back by a seperate company and is licenced to various
snowboard boot manufacturers. With it you just pull the knob out a click to
loosen the laces. Then push/click it in to tighten .... then turn the knob and
the super strong stainless steel cable/laces tighten snugly and evenly. It's
very easy and reliable ..... and Vans has been making BOA boots about as long
as anyone. Vans rates the stiffness of the '08 Encore BOA a 4 on a scale of 1
to 10 where 1 is the softest. Here are the Stats:
