In 1973 I was 12 years old and had just bough a new pair of orange Birdwells because everyone knew that Birdwells were the surf trunk ..... and they last forever too. After my second session out in perfect surf ('cause everyone knows that the surf was better back then) some low life scum stole them right off of the cloths line. I was pretty bummed back then and it still kinds pisses me off because there's a good chance that those Birwells may still be floating around somewhere (but they wouldn't do me much good now anyway as my size has increase a little with age). In any case the point is that they were great back then, they're great now and they're still made with pride in California, US of A. This medium orange is pretty much right in the middle (shade wise) between bright and faded orange .... and of course they're made out of surf-nylon. This is the original cut which means that they have a 15" outseam that will fall at about mid thigh or so. There is a button flap wax pocket in the back and as with all board shorts, you won't find any liner in these guys.
We suggest that you go up a size from the size which you'd normally take in shorts or board shorts. (sku# 55-488)
