| Simply put, this book is designed for the
surfer .... it is a guide which is packed with information that will help you
get more stoke out of your trip to Baja. Written by the author of "The Surfers
Guide to Costa Rica" Mike Parise, it is set up pretty much the same way as that
guide book. To start off with there is a pretty thorough section which covers
how to prepare for your trip ... what to pack and such. After that section the
Baja coast is broken into six sections. For each geographic section being
covered, Mike gives a brief description of the "feel and character" of the area
being covered and then goes into a very thorough description of the surf breaks
which can be found in that area. Tips are given as far as the crowds, which
tide the break works better on and other valuable information. Then for each
group of surf breaks there is a listing of accommodations which can be found
nearby. This "where to stay" listing includes phone numbers, a guide to rates
and a listing of amenities. There are maps in each section of the book which
are valuable for figuring out which breaks are located where, but they should
not be counted on as road maps. We highly recommend this book.
